Earline Gladys Romero Woolsey

Earline Gladys Romero Woolsey, 76, of Lake Charles, LA died Friday, July 8, 2016 in a local hospital.

Earline was born on October 23, 1939 in Big Lake, LA to Jasper and Gladys Ogea. She moved to Lake Charles, LA in 1957 and moved back to Big Lake, LA in 1994 and then moved back to Lake Charles, LA in 2004. Earline was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and a charter member of St. Mary’s and St. Patrick Catholic Daughters. Earline was retired from the Calcasieu Parish School Board after 26 years of service, retired from Johnson Funeral Home after 21 years of service, and worked both jobs for 13 years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bill Woolsey of Lake Charles, LA; one son, David Romero and wife Beryl of Big Lake, LA; two daughters, Elizabeth “Liz” Herpin and husband Ricky of Lake Charles, LA and Margaret Burgess and husband Robert of Big Lake, LA; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Rev. Herman Ogea and wife Rev. Kathi Ogea of Jennings, LA; two sisters, Lorraine Baccigalopi and husband Swinford and Genevieve “Genny” LeBouef of Lake Charles, LA.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Romero; son, Ronald Romero Sr.; grandchild, Emily Romero; parents, Jasper and Gladys Ogea; and twin brother, Earl Jasper Ogea.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a 6:00 PM Scripture Service and Rosary at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume from 8:00 AM until the time of service on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery. Monsignor Harry Greig and Pastor Gary Mann will officiate services.
