Earline Jane Richard McGuire, 78, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2013 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Earline was born November 15, 1934 in Basile, Louisiana where she grew up and graduated from St. Charles Academy in Lake Charles. She married Kenneth David McGuire and together they had 5 children; Kenneth and Earline were married for 47 years. Earline was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church, and avid reader and enjoyed planting wild flowers in her back yard. She was known by friends and neighbors as thoughtful, considerate, kind and loving. Earline is preceded in death by her parents, Laura and Clanny Richard, sisters, Emily Richard, Vergie Fusilier and Ethel Johnson; brother, Jennis Richard, and husband Kenneth McGuire, Sr. and her only son Kenneth McGuire, Jr. "Kenny", Earline leaves behind her daughters- Laura McGuire Bennett (Russell), Ann McGuire Melendy (Lynn), Mary Ellen McGuire Bushnell (Jimmy), and Melissa Bennett; grandchildren, Leigh Ann Ellender (Read), Robert and Rachel Bennett, Hannah and Joel Bennett, Andrew and Thomas Bushnell, and Lance Melendy (Brandy). Also, great-grandchildren, Luke Prince, Addison, Collin and Parker Melendy. Earline is also survived by one brother, Dennis Richard, Alexandria as well as a number of nieces and nephews. At her request, Earline was cremated and donated her eyes to the Southern Eye Bank for research and education. She will be buried with her husband, Kenneth McGuire at Consolata Cemetery. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank Christus St. Patrick Hospice; donations may be made to Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church.
