Earnest D. Hawkeye Morgan, Jr.

Earnest D. "Hawkeye" Morgan, Jr., 91, of Lake Charles passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011 in his residence.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles and a graduate of Lake Charles High School. Mr. Morgan worked most of his life as a Roofer for Morgan Roofing Company and was past President of the Roofers Local in Lake Charles. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army and a longtime member of University United Methodist Church and past president of the Lake Charles Chapter of AARP.

Survivors include three sons, Richard Dale Morgan and wife Sandy of Westlake, Patrick Lee Morgan and wife Kathie of Iowa, and Timothy Edward Morgan of Ceres, CA; four daughters, Judy Moss-Buerger and husband Frank of Spring, TX, Bambi Ann Hebert of Lake Charles, Susan M. Meyer of Lacassine, and Rose Mary Morgan of DeRidder; fifteen grandchildren, and twenty-five great grandchildren; two brothers, Cecil and Ray Morgan, and one sister Gail Smithwick. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Lee Morgan and a son, David B. Morgan.

His funeral will be Friday, November 4, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend's Kevin Merriman and Christian Nichles will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM Thursday and continue from 9:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM Friday in the funeral home.
