Easter Mae Fontenot Victorian, 84, of Iowa embraced her eternal rest surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones at 7:30 PM on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 in her daughter’s residence.
Mrs. Victorian was born on April 12, 1936 in Mamou, LA where she was raised until moving to Westlake in the early 1950’s. In 1999 she and her daughter, Beverly, moved to Iowa. She was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church where she was a Christian Mother before becoming a parishioner of St. Henry Catholic Church where she belonged to the Charismatic Prayer Group.
She was known for her cooking and baking, especially her savory sweet potato pies and cakes. Many people were able to indulge in them throughout the years. Mrs. Victorian also took pleasure in sewing and was fond of entertaining people.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Beverly Victorian of Lake Charles, Bernadine Victorian (Patrick) of Lake Charles, and Stanislaus “Stan” Victorian (Tamara) of Lafayette; grandchildren, Brandi Thomas (Eldridge), Brooke Victorian (Landis Pelt), Brittany Victorian, Valencia Victorian, and Sheridan Garrat; and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Victorian; parents, Madison and Valentine Fontenot; and 6 brothers and 5 sisters.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at St. Henry Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph Caraway will officiate. Burial will follow in Derouen Lorraine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin in University Baptist Church on Saturday from 8:00 AM until leaving for St. Henry at 10:30 AM with a rosary and eulogy being held at 9:00 AM.
