Edmond Terrell Sonnier

Edmond Terrell Sonnier, 56, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away at 12:52 AM on Saturday, November 5, 2022 in his residence.

Edmond was born June 1, 1966 in Lake Charles, LA and was raised in the Bell City, LA.  He was a 1984 graduate of Welsh High School and has lived all of his adult life in Lake Charles.  He worked for CARC making and selling crafts.  He enjoyed collecting rocks, listening to music, going for car rides, reading books and comics and watching Anime.  He also cherished the time he spent with his extended family at CARC going to church and various activities.

Edmond is survived by his father, John Ardoin of Vinton; siblings, Angela Ducat (John) of Bell City, Chad Ardoin (Sabrina) of Holmwood, Michelle LeLeaux (Michael) of Welsh, Dewayne Sonnier (Katy) of Welsh, Emil Onken (Jerri), and Jessica Carnes (Conrad); along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin Lee Sonnier and Gaylette Reed Ardoin; grandparents, Ouida Reed, Martin Sonnier, and Joyce Sonnier; and great-grandmother, Annie “Meme” Belanger.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bell City.  Father John Payne will officiate.  Burial will follow in DeRouen-Lorraine Cemetery in Hayes, LA.  Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Thursday from 10:00 AM until 1:15 PM.

The family would like to express a special word of thanks to his extended family/caregivers at CARC for all of the care, compassion and support given throughout the years.
