Edmund Moerbe

Edmund Moerbe (Sonny), 76, was called home to be with our Lord on Thursday, April 23, 2015. Mr. Moerbe was a native of Port Arthur, TX and a resident of Lake Charles for most of his life. He was a graduate of Lagrange Senior High School and a Veteran of the United States Army. On March 18, 1961, he Married Elaine Brignac. Through this union they were blessed with two children, Melissa and Brian. Mr. Moerbe worked for Borden's for a number of years and retired from Condea Vista where he worked as a Millwright. Ed and Elaine loved to travel and those travels carried them from East to West Coast and from the Gulf of Mexico to Alaska. An avid hunter and fisherman, he also loved visiting friends and storytelling. Ever a practical joker, he made quick friends with everyone and was always popular with kids. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Elaine Moerbe. His children, Melissa Laughlin (Howard) of Conroe, TX. Brian Moerbe (Lisa) of Westlake, LA., 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Mr. Edmund is preceded in death by his parents and a younger brother. His funeral will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.Visitation will begin on Friday at 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary to be held at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue at 8:00 AM until 1:30 PM on Saturday in the funeral home. Very Reverend Anthony Fontenot will officiate services.
