Edna Mae Frederick, 81, of Lake Charles died at 3:00 AM on Sunday, May 15, 2011 in her residence.


Mrs. Frederick was born in Evangeline, LA on October 11, 1929 and lived in Lake Charles since 1948. When her children were growing up, she and her husband were involved in little league baseball. Mrs. Frederick was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.


She enjoyed bowling in her earlier years and later became an avid golfer. She and her husband belonged to a bridge group which included several special friends.


Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 64 years, Lloyd Frederick of Lake Charles; four children, John Frederick of Houston, Pam Williamson and husband Terry of Sulphur, David Frederick and wife Sandy of Crump, TN, and Lee Anne Frederick of Baton Rouge; a sister, Helen Beyeaux of Dequincy; ten grandchildren, Dr. John Frederick, Ross and Carter Frederick, Kaitlyn and Hunter Wimberly, Brian, Michael, and Scott Williamson, and David and Aaron Frederick; and three great grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Eva Doucet; and four siblings, Leroy and Winfred Doucet, Isabelle Denby, and Lillian Martin.


A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. The Rev. Nathan Long will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM in the funeral home.
