Edward Charles Stevenson

August 8, 1942 — April 21, 2022

Edward Charles Stevenson was a native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles, LA. He honorably and faithfully served our country in the United States Navy.  As a provider for his family, Eddie worked his career as an operator at Arch Chemicals, formerly known as Olin Chemical Plant, retiring after 30+ years of loyal service.  He was a business owner of an air conditioning & refrigeration company that serviced local businesses and residents. He was a member of Mossville Truth Tabernacle. 

Preceding Eddie in death are his parents, Jesse and Orelia (Bailey) Stevenson; brothers, Richard Stevenson, Jesse Stevenson, Jr., and Earl Henderson; and sister, Lillian Stevenson White. He leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved wife, Iris (Nathan) Stevenson, Lake Charles; two sons Mark Stevenson (Daphne), Zachary, LA and Gregory Burrell, II (Melodi),  Richmond, TX;  two daughters, Sharon Stevenson Johnson (Casey), Milton, FL and Gerliscia Burrell Wells (Earnie), Houston, TX; grandchildren, Miyah Stevenson, Skylar Johnson, Shelby Johnson, Sloan Johnson, Joshua Burrell, Londyn Wells, Lennox Wells, Landree Wells, Laci-Grace Wells, McKenzie Howard, and Carl Morrison; brothers, James Smooth, Sacramento, CA,  Hubert Wayne Smith (Berline), Lake Charles and John Smith, Sr. (Cynthia) Lake Charles; sisters, Emma Stevenson Kaough, Baytown, TX  and Jessica Stevenson Rideau (Tommy), Lake Charles; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family of the heart.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Mossville Truth Tabernacle with a celebration of his life to begin at 11:00 AM.,  Pastor Lionel Thierry officiating.  Entombment with military honors will follow at Consolata Cemetery, all under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.

In support of Eddie's love for New Orleans Saints football, his family encourages everyone to wear black and gold to the services.
