Edward E Nelson, Jr.

Edward Earnest Nelson, Jr. was born December 18, 1941 in Lake Charles, LA to the late Edward E Sr. and Marjorie Nelson.  He left this world July 19, 2022.  He was 80 years old. 

He and his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth Elzada Gunn attended Marion High School and shortly after they were wed. They were lifelong residents of the Lake Charles, LA and together welcome four children.

He worked in the oil industry for many years then worked for Moss Regional Medical Center until his retirement.  He was a godly man; he and his family were members of The Assembly of God Church. He was a caring and giving man, when his wife fell ill, he retired to be her full time caregiver until her passing in May 2018. He was a simple man, loving the time he spent with his family and piddling around the house kept him content.

He was welcomed into Heaven by his wife of fifty-four years, Elizabeth Elzada Nelson and his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Paige Barrentine (James (Jimbo)),  Natalie Henry,  Christi Nelson, Holly Nelson (Bryan Hood) and Beckie Hale  grandchildren, Magen Savario (Nick) Mitchell Thibodeaux, Jr., Andrew Thibodeaux, Candace Elfert, Adam Elfert (Jill), Carli Hood (Chris Duhon), Gabe Hood, and Liam Hood. He also is survived by eight great grandchildren - Alek, Klowee, Alissa, Easton, Eli, Avery, Emmett, and Maci. Brother Billy Nelson (Shirley), sisters, Betty Jo Nelson Lee, and Janan Smith (Gerry). He is also survived by his two beloved pets, Zee and Snoop.

Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. 

At his request no services will be held.
