Edward "Eddie" Huey Landreneau

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward “Eddie” Huey Landreneau of Lake Charles, Louisiana, who passed away on October 26, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving family and friends to mourn. 

Born on June 14, 1941, in Mamou, Louisiana to Antoine and Lelma Landreneau, quickly nicknamed “Boy Blue” for his bright blue eyes. As a child his family moved around Southwest Louisiana, eventually settling in Lake Charles where he attended LaGrange High School.  After high school, he served in the US ARMY in Korea where he trained and handled post guard dogs.  He later had a long career in the oil and gas industry working for multiple companies across the globe before retiring but having made lifelong friends.  In 1992, he attended McNeese University and received an Associate of Science in Petroleum Services.  He loved music, dancing, time at the lake with his sons and nephews, and visiting with friends and family. 

He was predeceased by his parents, Antoine “Ela’” Landreneau and Lelma Landreneau; and his sisters, Janette Welch, Francis Granger, and Inez Johnson Angerstein.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patricia Landreneau of Lake Charles; sons, Kyle Landreneau (Rena) of Fulshear, Texas and Brandon Landreneau (Stephanie) of Cove, Texas; sister, Beverly Martin of Lake Charles; and three grandchildren, Anna, Thomas, and Elizabeth.    

Visitation for friends and family is from 9-11 am on Tuesday November 1, 2022, at Johnson Funeral home in Lake Charles.  A celebration of life will begin at 11:00 AM followed by a burial at Highland Memory Gardens.
