Edwin Keith Rider

Edwin Keith Rider, 54, of Lake Charles entered into eternal rest Saturday, November 18, 2023 from a local healthcare facility following a brief illness of advanced stage metastatic cancer.
Mr. Rider was born February 13, 1969 in Lake Charles where he lived most of his life. He attained his High School diploma following his attendance at J.I. Watson Elementary and Middle School and Iowa High School. He worked his younger years as an Industrial painter offshore. He then began residential work with some industrial throughout his career, achieving Journeyman Industrial Painter status. He was talented and well respected within the industry; his latest status was Finish Painter. Mr. Rider enjoyed surfing the web and gambling at the casinos. He will be most remembered for his sense of humor and love of laughter.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Drew Marshall Rider-Smith (Jessica) and their child, Jonathan of Polk City, FL; mother, Brenda Brown Rider of Lake Charles; two sisters, Margaret Michelle Rider of Lake Charles and Cheryl Rider Bond (Randy) of Huntington, TX; nieces and nephews, Jesseca Grice, Trace Mercer, Jesse Mercer and Jackie Mercer and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Orian Thomas Rider; brother, Doris Lee Rider and two nephews, Orian Thomas Mercer and Rennia Joseph Mercer
In respect of his wishes, Mr. Rider’s family and closest friends will gather privately for a Memorial celebration.
