Edwin Poss Joseph Granger, Sr.

Edwin "Poss" Joseph Granger, Sr., 93, of Sulphur, LA died at 7:25 AM on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 in his residence.

Mr. Granger was born July 19, 1918 in Sulphur, LA, where he was a life-long resident and a member of one of the founding families in Sulphur. He was a 1938 graduate of Sulphur High School and worked at CITGO for fifteen years as a carpenter. He later became self employed and was known as the best countertop mechanic in the area. Mr. Granger was a member of Our Lady of Lasalette Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing the fiddle and played with numerous bands in the area.

Mr. Granger is survived by his daughter, Sarah Hebert of Sulphur, LA; sons, Edwin J. Granger, Jr. and wife Lula of Mansfield, LA, James Scott Granger and wife Anita of Sulphur, LA, and Savoy Jan Granger and wife Tina of Shreveport, LA; twelve grandchildren, sixteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Granger; daughter, Sheila Weatherly; parents; and ten siblings.

Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. A private service will be at a later date.
