Edwin Romero

Mr. Edwin G. Romero, 84, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011. He was born in Kaplan and a resident of Lake Charles.

Mr. Romero retired from Continental Oil Company, as a Safety Supervisor, in 1984 after 32 years of service. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Belaire Romero; one son, Robert Keith Romero and wife Wendy of Carencro; three daughters, Shelley Dearing and husband Harry of The Woodlands, TX, Vicki Thomas and husband Mark of Houston, Lisa Landry and husband Joe; one sister, Marie Bourque and husband Ivan of Kaplan; three grandchildren, Brianne Prescott, Jesse Dearing and Harry Dearing III; his loving dog, Pepper.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 10AM in Johnson Funeral Home. Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5PM-9PM with a rosary at 6PM and will continue Wednesday from 8AM until time of service.
