El Joseph Lavergne

EL Joseph Lavergne, 81, of Westlake, LA, died at 5:30 PM on Saturday, December 12, 2020 in his residence.

Mr. Lavergne was born April 14, 1939 and was a longtime Westlake resident.  He was raised in the Catholic faith and retired from PPG, where he worked as an industrial painter.  Mr. Lavergne volunteered his time helping cook at the America Legion.  He loved woodworking and was always helping others in any way he could.

Mr. Lavergne is survived by his son, Dennis Lavergne and wife Judy of Westlake; brother, Harold Lavergne; grandchildren, Ashley Duhon, Brittney Rhodes and husband Dalton, and Kelly Nicholson; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jody Lavergne; parents, Ulysse and Marie Lavergne; and siblings, LeRoy, Martin, Nell Rose, Ora, Louvina, and Elizabeth.

His graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Consolata Cemetery, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Deacon Fred Reed will officiate.  A gathering of family members and friends will be held at Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM.
