Elaine Christine Louviere

December 2, 1919 — January 31, 2013

Elaine C. Louviere, 93, of Lake Charles passed away Thursday January 31, 2013 in a local hospital.


She was a native of Denver, CO and lived most of her life in New Iberia before moving to Lake Charles over twenty-four years ago. Mrs. Louviere worked as a civilian stenographer during World War II both in Washington DC and Denver. She was a Volunteer for the American Red Cross and received Volunteer of the Year. Mrs. Louviere was also a member of Bosom Buddies. She was a member of St. Luke Simpson United Methodist Church.


Survivors include her three sons, Dr. Eugene Michael Louviere and wife Sylvia, Dr. Gerald Andrew Louviere and wife Diane all of Lake Charles, and Daniel Joseph Louviere and wife Ilene of Jacksonville, FL; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years, Milton Joseph Louviere.


Her funeral will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 3, 2013 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Chris Fuselier will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and continue Sunday from 10:00 AM until time of services.
