Eldon M Yancey

Eldon M. Yancey, 76, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away at 3:45 AM on Friday, June 4, 2021 in his residence.

Mr. Yancey was born August 2, 1944 in Andalusia, AL.  In 2008, he retired from Citgo as a maintenance supervisor, where he worked for many years.  Throughout his lifetime, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, woodworking, sailing, boiling peanuts and cooking for his family and friends, playing dominoes, working puzzles, and listening to music.

Mr. Yancey is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Bobbi Yancey; son, Stephen Yancey and wife Kim of Illinois; siblings, Helen Bishop (Leo), Katherine Heckeroth (Chris), Margaret Jelinek (Mike), and Allen B. Yancey (Anita); along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Orell Yancey and Allie Ruth (McClendon) Yancey; and siblings William Edward Yancey, Jimmy Neal Yancey, Elizabeth Hodges, Gerald Yancey, and June Yancey.

His memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at University Baptist Church, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Father Rojo Koonathan will officiate.  Inurnment will follow in Consolata Cemetery.  A gathering of family members and friends will be at the church on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
