Eldridge Bill Comeaux

October 23, 1942 — December 5, 2010

Eldridge "Bill" Comeaux, 68, of Lake Charles died Sunday December 5, 2010 at a local care facility surrounded by his family.


A native of Rayne, Bill moved to Lake Charles at the age of 11. He was a graduate of LaGrange High School in 1960 and served our country in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1965, primarily aboard the vessel U.S.S. Long Beach. After his time in the service, Bill began his career in instrumentation with PPG until 1976. He then moved to Alaska working for ARCO/Alaska and retired from BP/AMACO in 2001, spending his entire career in the instrumentation field.


Bill was preceded in death by his parents Eldridge "Bill" Comeaux, Sr. and Louise Marie LeBlanc Comeaux. Those left to cherish his precious memories are his loving wife of 49 1/2 years, Cheryl Bult Comeaux, Lake Charles; daughter, Denise Norsworthy and her children Jason, along with his daughter Layla, of Lake Charles, and daughter Sarah Fontenot and husband Johnathan along with Holden Blaise Fontenot, who is expected to arrive in the next two weeks, of Iowa, LA; son Richard Keith Comeaux, Sr. and his children, son, Richard K. Comeaux, Jr., Anchorage, AK, and his daughter Kathryn Comeaux, Wasilla, AK; daughter Lita Comeaux-Bryant and husband Joshua and her children, Dylan, Ian, Mackenzie and Meril Bryant, all of Wasilla, AK; and brothers Greg Comeaux and wife Eileen, of Dickinson, TX and Clyde "Bim" and wife Lori Comeaux, Lake Charles.


As per Bill's request, no services or visitation are planned. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.


The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and staff of Pulmonary Associates of Southwest Louisiana for the extreme care that they have shown in the past five years as well as and the entire staff of Extended Care of Southwest Louisiana for making these past weeks such a meaningful part of their lives.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Lung Association, National Rheumitoid Arthritis Society or to the charity of the donor's choice.
