Elizabeth Ann Wilson

Elizabeth (Betty) Wilson, 77, wife of Shelby Wilson, Sr. of Lake Charles, La passed on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at St. Patrick’s Hospital, Lake Charles, La.

Born July 31, 1943, in Church Point, La, Betty was the daughter of the late Alse and Cora Duplechain.

Betty attended Washington High School and Grambling University.  She was a life-long member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Betty worked for Calcasieu Parish School Board for more than 31 years as a Cafeteria Worker, Cafeteria Manager, and Substitute Teacher, and was lovingly referred to by co-workers as Aunt B.  Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend.

Betty is survived by her husband of 57 years (Shelby Wilson, Sr.), her son (Shelby Wilson, Jr. of Lake Charles, La), her granddaughter (Jada Elizabeth Wilson), and two sisters (Arlita Mary Duplechain and Jocelyn Anderson). There are no words to describe how much Betty was loved and will be missed.  May the angels of God receive her soul and present her to God, the Most High!

A private burial will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Sacred Heart of Mary Cemetery.
