Elizabeth Daughenbaugh

Elizabeth Woosley Daughenbaugh, 91, of Lake Charles, passed away in the early morning hours on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. A native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles, Elizabeth was born on May 30, 1932 to Terrell and Gertrude Woosley.

Those left to cherish her memory are her 2 daughters; Lynne Reid and her husband Richard, Susan Pennison and her husband Keith, 2 sons, Dr. David Daughenbaugh and wife Donna, Dr. Mark Daughenbaugh all of Lake Charles, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dr. Lynn Daughenbaugh, her daughter, Elizabeth Daughenbaugh Nickel, brothers, Jimmy Woosley and Terrell Woosley, Jr. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Carolane Citizen, Trina Nixon and others from LeeAnna’s Caregiving Service for providing loving and compassionate care.

Visitation will be from 1:00P.M. until service time at 2:00P.M., Friday, June 9, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St., Lake Charles, LA. 70605. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memory Garden Cemetery.

Because of our belief in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior we are sure that we will be having a reunion with her one day.

Memorial contributions may be made in Elizabeth’s name to the Elizabeth Daughenbaugh Nickel Scholarship in Nursing at The McNeese Foundation or The Samaritans Purse.
