O LORD my God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me.
Elizabeth Elzada (Gunn) Nelson, 75, went to meet Her Lord and Savior Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 9:16 PM in her home surrounded by family. She died as she lived - with peace in her heart and a loving smile on her lips. She was diagnosed with Breast Cancer July 1984 and for 34 years she battled it with dignity and faith - never allowing it to define her - always until the end defying it.
Elizabeth was born November 23, 1942 to Clarence and Margaret Gunn joining her two big brothers Wally and Bobby Gunn who affectionately called her ‘Sister’. She graduated from Marion High School in 1961. December 23, 1961 she married her soul mate Edward Ernest Nelson, Jr. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this past December 2017. Elizabeth worked as a Radiology Technician at Moss Regional Medical Center until her retirement in 2002.
She is survived by her loving husband Edward Ernest Nelson; our beautiful father who cared for her tirelessly - never leaving her side, loving her until their last marital vow was fulfilled - Until Death Do Us Part. We love you Daddy - you are a Dad like no other.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents Clarence and Margaret Gunn. In-laws Edward and Marjorie Nelson, and infant daughter Stephanie Suzanne Nelson.
Her services will be held at Johnson Funeral Home Wednesday, May 30, 2018.
