Elizabeth Liz Huesers Tate

Elizabeth "Liz" Huesers Tate, 52, of Lake Charles passed away Friday, May 04, 2012 from the comfort of her home.


Mrs. Tate was born in Jennings, LA and lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She was a graduate of Lake Charles High School where she was a Kiltie. She worked thirty years for Bell South Telephone having retired as a Sales Representative with ATT. Mrs. Tate was a member of Telephone Pioneers and Communication Workers of America, of which she was former President and still enjoyed their gatherings.


Mrs. Tate was a creative writer often called on by friends and family to write the eulogy of their loved ones. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining, family and friends and had an overwhelming love for her grandchildren.


She will be most remembered for putting all others first.


She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Jerry C. Tate; one son, Derek Verret and wife Lilly and one daughter, Amanda Jurgens and husband Mathew, all of Lake Charles; one step-son, Derek Young of Sulphur; seven grandchildren; one brother, Stephen Huesers and wife Sheryl of Lake Charles; two sisters, LaVona Taylor and husband Charles and Molly Benoit and husband Norris of Pearland, TX; two special friends, Liz Landry and Kay Caruthers, both of Lake Charles and her baby dog, Buck.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Sylvia Doucet Huesers.


Scripture services and a Cursillo rosary will be at 6:00 PM Sunday, May 06, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate. Visitation Sunday will be from 1:00 PM until the time of service in the funeral home.
