Ella Mae Ray

August 18, 1929 — May 17, 2016

It is with a heavy heart that the family of Ella Mae Ray, announce her death at 86 years of age.

 

Ella was born on August 18, 1929, in Oberlin, Louisiana to Alcide Chaumont and Martha Rozas. She enjoyed being with her family and friends and loved the outdoors. Some of her loves of life were cooking, baking and gardening. She was a dedicated parishioner at St. Margaret Catholic Church for over 60 years and worked at the Pipefitters Local 106 as a secretary for 20 years.

 

Ella was preceded in death by her husband, James Clifton Ray; father and mother; brother, Darrel Chaumont and 3 sisters, Irece George, Cleola Christ and Irene Granger.

 

Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory are her 4 daughters, Toni (Bob) Trost, Terri Glasgow, Paula (Bill) Ramsey and Joni (Dale) Thibodeaux; 5 grandchildren, Kim (Brian) Madigan, Ross (Katie) Thibodeaux, Brandt Thibodeaux, Carli Thibodeaux and Colton Ramsey; 3 great grandchildren, Sarah and Josh Madigan, Thomas Thibodeaux; Aa host of nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral Mass will be conducted at 1PM Friday, May 20, 2016, at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Lake Charles, LA. with Father Marcus Johnson officiating. Entombment to follow, in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

 

Family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4PM till 8PM with a Rosary being conducted at 6PM with visitation resuming again on Friday from 9AM till 12:30PM.

 

The family request a special thank you go out to Brighton Bridge Hospice, especially Melinda Keller, RN and the staff at Villa Maria and Stonebridge Place.
