Ellen "Patsy" Gueringer

Ellen Clarice “Patsy” Gueringer, age 87, received her wings in the early hours of Friday, May 6, 2022, and went to walk with the angels.

Patsy met James “Pete” Gueringer, the young man who would become her husband, while in grade school.  Together they raised their children with love and devotion. Patsy and Pete adored each other; when Pete passed away in 2004, their marriage endured for 50 years.

In her spare time, Patsy love to fish, paint, quilt, and craft. She also volunteered her time serving others as a Pink Lady for West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital.  She will be greatly missed by her family, especially her children, who adored her with all their hearts.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, James D. Gueringer and wife Jeanette, Susan Lynette Smith and husband Bobby, and Steven “Paul” Gueringer and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Mistie, April, Ashley, Chloe, Jeremey, Bryan, Jessica, and Matthew; great grandchildren, Ava Grace, Brooke, Jameson, Tyler, Kaitlynn, Dylan, Connor, Emma, Dayne, Ryleigh, Madisyn, Lilly, Raya, and Tessa; sister, Janet Wright; and brother, Jerry Gill. Patsy will also be missed by her nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly.

Waiting at Heaven’s gates were her husband, Pete; son, William Alan Gueringer; parents, Luther and Ollie Gill; sister, Lillian O’Neal; and brother, Larry Gill.

We know that we can’t have you, but we are happy knowing that the angels finally got you back. Good-bye to a wonderful woman and a beautiful mother and grandmother.

Serving as pallbearers are Nick Adams, Jeremey Broussard, Bryan Broussard, Mathew Champagne, Josh LeBlanc, and Todd Turner.

Services honoring Patsy will be 2pm, Tuesday, May 10, 2022, in Johnson and Robison Funeral Home of Sulphur. Rev. Marcus Wade will officiate. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery of Carlyss.
