Ellis James Whittaker, Jr

Ellis James Whittaker Jr (Boo boo), a retired electrician and resident of Sulphur, LA passed away peacefully at the age of 65 on the early morning of September 3, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles surrounded by his family. 

Ellis is survived by his wife of 42 years Donna Whittaker; his children Jena and her husband Felipe Arellano; Ellis Whittaker III; and Bradi and her husband McKinsey Freeman; his grandchildren Raylee and her husband Luis Trejo, Baleigh, Aubrey, Mac, Colten, Drayden, Sean, Eden, and Sean and Eden's mother Shavanah Whittaker; his great grandchildren Luca and Julian; his siblings Mildred Trahan, Carolynn Lavergne, and Dewayne Whittaker; and his niece Krista Lavergne. He is proceeded by his mother Stella Whittaker and his father Ellis James Whittaker Sr., as well as his siblings Alice, Melba, Velma, Rj, and Larry Bob Lavergne.

Ellis was born in Houma, LA. He was very involved in the lives of his loved ones and friends. He loved people, loved the Lord, and the Word of God. He was Chaplin and former Vice President for the Christian Motorcyclist Association Lake Charles chapter Wings As Eagles #558, a volunteer and member of Victory Worship Center in Sulphur, LA, a crossing guard for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Dept., he was a student of Faith Bible Institute, and a jack of all trades. He loved to give of his time and resources, he enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, boating, watching western movies, spending time with his family and friends, shopping at Walmart, and tinkering with all of his toys and collectibles. He was a New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers fan.

 Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday September 8, 2021at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service Wednesday at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Burial will be at Big Woods Cemetery with Pastor Larry LaFleur officiating services.
