Elma Lee Morgan

Elma Lee Riley Morgan, 73, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 7:28 AM on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in a local hospital. Mrs. Morgan was born December 20, 1941 in Oklahoma, lived in Gladewater, TX during her younger years and has lived in Lake Charles in 1952. She was a 1960 graduate of LaGrange High School and graduated from McNeese State University with her BA and M.ED. She worked for the Calcasieu Parish School Board as a teacher for thirty-one years and was a member of the Calcasieu Cameron Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Morgan was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she sang in the Joy Choir, was a member of EMMA Sunday School Class and volunteered with Manna Ministries. Mrs. Morgan is survived by her sons, James Daniel Morgan of Lake Charles and John Matthew Morgan of Jacksonville, FL; and one grandchild, Lena J. Morgan. She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmye D. Morgan and parents, James W. and Edythe Riley. Her funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Bart Glatt will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
