Elton Domaingue

August 16, 1921 — November 8, 2014

Elton Joseph Domaingue, 93, of Sulphur passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2014. Elton was born in Vinton, raised in Edgerly and lived most of his life in Sulphur. Elton served his country in the United States Navy and was a WWII veteran. Upon his return from the service, Elton moved to Sulphur where he raised his family. He was a faithful member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Elton worked at the Sulphur Mines for many years and retired in 1986 as an operator. He was also a beekeeper for many years and was known as the "Honey Man" in Sulphur. Elton loved camping, hunting, his family and spending time with his family. Elton is survived by his son, Robert (Deanna) Domaingue; four daughters, Susan Navarre, Donna Domaingue Darbonne and Carolyn (George) Stogner all of Sulphur and Marilyn (Benny) Poston of Hornbeck, 25 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Elton is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Dorothy Fasske Domaingue; his loving companion of 22 years, Ruby Coward, and his parents, Martin Domaingue and Marie Toups McFarland. Services for Elton will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church at 10 am with Father Edward Richard officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 10, 2014 from 4 pm to 9 pm with a Cursillo rosary at 6:30 pm and resume on Tuesday from 8 am until 9:30 am. The family would like to send special thanks to Dr. Maureen Lannan and Heart of Hospice for their loving care and compassion. Also special thanks to Pam Watkins who lovingly assisted with his care. Donations can be made to American Diabetes Association.
