Emily Ann Baglio

Emily Ann Kyeer Baglio, 72, of Lake Charles passed away Wednesday February 14, 2024 in a New Orleans Hospital following a brief illness.

Mrs. Baglio was born and raised in Fenton, LA and was a graduate of Fenton High School.  Shortly thereafter she began modeling from time to time.  She also began studying at Demmons School of Beauty and upon graduation worked as a hair stylist in cosmetology for many years.  It was during this time in her young life that she met her sweetheart Louis at the Drive In and four years later, they married.  She later worked and retired a Manager at Walmart.  Mrs. Baglio was a fabulous cook: loved watching cooking shows, creating special dishes, cooking and baking.  Amongst her specialties were homemade bread, cakes, pies, gumbo and rice and gravy. She also loved watching game shows and date nights at the casino.  She was a talented seamstress, sewing for her family as well as her daughters and granddaughters recitals, dances and pageants. She was a lady of grace and prayer who will be most remembered for love and devotion to her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of fifty-four years, Louis Victor Baglio of Lake Charles; two children, Louis Lawrence Baglio (Jr.) and wife Gayla and daughter, Denissa Marie Brown and husband Russell, all of Lake Charles; eight grandchildren, Krista Rozas, Brason Leckelt, Matthew McGlone, Louis McGlone, Curtis Baglio, Curt Baglio, Joel Baglio and Jakob Brown and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Curtis Wayne Baglio; parents, Laurits Jospeh Kyeer and Ura Dubroc Kyeer and brother, Laurits Joseph Kyeer, Jr.

Funeral services honoring Mrs. Baglio will be at 10:00 AM Monday, February 19, 2024 in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home.  Monsignor Harry Greig will officiate.  Interment services will follow in Consolata Cemetery.  Visitation Sunday will be from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary service beginning at 6:00 PM.  Visitation Monday will be from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
