Emma Rita Guidry

Emma Rita Guidry, 84, died at 9:39 PM, on January 2, 2021 in a Woodlands’ hospital.

Born September 19, 1936 to Frank and Josephine Pecorino Tramonte in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Mrs. Guidry was a graduate of St. Charles Academy in 1955 and Demmons School of Beauty.  She was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, until moving to Texas eight years ago.  She worked as a cashier for Muller’s, George Theriot’s, Market Basket, Walmart and was the owner of The Burger Shack.  Mrs. Guidry was dedicated to raising her daughters and adored her granddaughter Josie, who was the light of her life.  She also enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and cake decorating.

Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory are her daughters, Donna Odom and husband Rafe of Montgomery, TX, Patti G. Burgess of Conroe, TX, and Lori G. Smith of Sulphur, LA; sisters, Marie Buntyn and JoAnn Baker, both of Lake Charles; brother, Frank Tramonte and wife Phyllis, also of Lake Charles; one granddaughter, Josie Marie Smith of Lake Charles; step grandchildren, Johnathon Odom and wife Kelly of Alvin, TX, Randall Frazier and wife Lindsey of Baytown, TX, and Saprina Odom of Deweyville, TX; great-grandchildren, Maison Odom, Bailey Frazier, Skylar Odom and Adelyn Lout; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of thirty-eight years, Donald E. Guidry; and two brothers, Vito Joseph Tramonte and Billy Frank Tramonte.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Lake City Baptist Church, 3940 Holly Hill Road, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Father Keith Pellerin will officiate.  Interment will be at Highland Memory Gardens.  Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
