Eric James Soileau

Eric James Soileau, 56, of Lake Charles passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in a local hospital.

Mr. Soileau was born in Eunice and lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He attended Barbe High School. He owned and operated Soileau Vinyl Siding for which he installed metal roofs and vinyl siding. During his younger years, he enjoyed riding mini-bikes and motorcycles. As he grew older he enjoyed entertaining, cooking and feeding friends and family. He has always loved fishing, crabbing, watching old television programs and football. He was an avid LSU and Green Bay fan. Mr. Soileau will be most remembered for his love of family, sense of humor and making people laugh.

He leaves to honor his memory, his mother, JoAnn Fontenot Richard and step-father, Joseph Richard of Sunset, LA; two brothers, Guy Joseph Soileau and wife Priscilla of LeBleu Settlement and Robert Wade Soileau and wife Angela of Moss Bluff; two nephews, Chris Soileau and wife Petra and Derick Soileau, both of Lake Charles; two nieces, Brittany Ebersole and husband Thomas and Jessica Page Soileau, both of Lake Charles; and two aunts, Paulette Fontenot and Diane Colomb and husband Robert, both of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Joseph Soileau and step-mother, Nell Soileau.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 18, 2018 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Visitation Thursday will begin at 9:00 AM with a Cursillo rosary at 10:15 AM.
