Eric Weldon Quayhagen

Eric Quayhagen, lovingly known as Ric, 64, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024. Ric was born February 8, 1960, to Patricia Ann Anderson and James “Jim” Franklin Quayhagen. 

Ric honorably served a four-year tenure in the Army, followed by service in the National Guard. He was an extraordinary family man with a passion for crabbing, fishing, and cooking. He created countless mouthwatering recipes and left a lasting impression everywhere he went. For his friends and family, there was nothing he wouldn't do to lend a helping hand. Ric’s life journey included meeting his first wife Ronda K Quayhagen, raising two children, JJ and Josh, and excelling in a career in cosmetology. His talent and charm won over many customers. He continued to expand his family with his second wife, Tiffany B Quayhagen, adding three more children, Mallory, Elijah, and baby girl Maci. Ric was a black belt in karate, he touched many lives through martial arts and trained numerous national and world champions.

Ric’s determination to provide for his family led him to secure a steady offshore job, where he quickly rose through the ranks and earned numerous awards and certificates.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Johnette “JJ” Quayhagen Shepherd (Alan), Maci Kai Quayhagen (Trevor), Mallory Elizabeth Berryman, Joshua Eric Quayhagen (Morgan), Elijah Bedell Quayhagen; grandchildren, Ava, Lonnie, Emma, Wyatt, Kara, Masyn, Julianna, Kaci, Kyli, Kena; siblings, James “Tuffy” Quayhagen (Shelly), Jeffery “Jeff” Quayhagen (Alma), Tori Allen (Jeffery), Julie Cotton (Kelly), Amanda Veuleman (Greg); father, James “Jim” Quayhagen 

He was welcomed into heaven by his mom, Patricia Ann Anderson.

A celebration of life will be held at 1pm on Saturday, October 5th at Waters Edge Gathering, 2760 Power Center Pkwy Lake Charles, LA 70607. Visitation will begin at 12:00pm at Waters Edge. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to help with cremation costs are appreciated and can be made to Josh.

Cremation is to be entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
