Erline Elkins

Erline Elyse Jinks Elkins, 88, of Lake Charles, LA died at 12:47 AM on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 in her residence.

Mrs. Elkins was born September 9, 1923 in Beaumont, TX and was a graduate of LaGrange High School. She was an active and faithful member of Boulevard Church of Christ for sixty years, where she was a member of the Scribes and the 39-ers and taught a Ladies Bible Class. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.

Mrs. Elkins is survived by her children, Sandra Martin of Lake Charles, Donna Welch of Searcy, AR, and Scott Elkins and wife Laura of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Paul Elkins, Chris Elkins, Kim Martinez, Byron Martin, Darrell Welch, Jesse Welch, Beth Elkins, and Nathan Elkins; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lenon Dewey Elkins; parents, Samuel Norman Jinks and Paulena Goodman Jinks; son, Jared Elkins; and grandson, David Welch.

Her graveside service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Minister Paul Franks will officiate.
