Ernest Charles Rosteet, 84, of Lake Charles died at 12:50 AM on Monday, March 28, 2011 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Rosteet was born on April 9, 1926 in Lake Charles, LA. He was a member of two founding families of Lake Charles, the Rosteet Family and the LeBleu Family. Mr. Rosteet worked for Vincent Oil Company and has been retired over 20 years. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church.
Mr. Rosteet is survived by his only son, Donald J. Rosteet and his wife, Cherie of Tuscumbia, Mo.; one granddaughter, Chante' Smith and her husband, Lance of Eldon, Mo.; one grandson, Donald J. Rosteet, Jr. and his wife, Amy of Houston, Tx.; and three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Rosteet, Skyler Smith and Jacob Smith. Also surviving are his loving nephews and their family, Fred and Gaynell Rosteet, Roger Rosteet, Sidney and Cathy Rosteet, Charles and Paula Rosteet, Scott and Jane Rosteet, Jerry and Chris Rosteet, Billy and Linda Miller, Roland Miller, Bobby and Barbara Smith, and one loving niece D'Lane and Ed Chandler.
Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Alberta Rosteet, one brother, Roger Rosteet, and two sisters, Doris Smith and Iris Miller. He is also preceded by his two wives, Clotile Marie Rosteet, of Lake Arthur, La., and Katie Rosteet.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 in Highland Memory Garden Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Keith Pellerin will officiate. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM in the funeral home.
