Ernest Lee Romero

Ernest Lee Romero, 81, of Lake Charles died Sunday, April 9, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his family.  A native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles, Ernest was born on November 14, 1941 to Ernest Romero and Lucille Broussard Romero.  After graduating high school Ernest became a process operator and retired after many years of service at Bassell chemical plant. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Alaina Richard and husband Rickey of Iowa, LA., three sons, Wayne Romero of Sugar Land TX., Jay Romero and wife Angela, and Danny Romero and wife Kathy all of Lake Charles.  One sister, Barbara Doll of Kentucky, two brothers, Gene Romero of Lake Charles and Kirk Romero of Turkey, three grandchildren, Courtney Rougeau and husband Zach, Jacob Romero and Trey Stelly, six step grandchildren, two great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren, and his companion Theresa Manuel.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty Romero and son, Donald Romero.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM with a rosary recited at 6:00PM at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St., Lake Charles, LA. 70605.  Visitation will resume Wednesday at 10:00AM.  A Mass of Christian burial will be Celebrated Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 11:00AM in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 3939 Lake St., Lake Charles, LA. 70605.  Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery.
