Ernest Ernie Lloyd Wilks, 58 of Sulphur passed away on August 8, 2013 in his residence. Ernie graduated from Sulphur High School. He served 30 years of service as a supervisor for Turner Industries at the Phillips 66 Refinery. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and guitar player. Ernie was a family oriented man that devoted his life to his children and grandchildren. Ernie is survived by his daughter, Melanie Wilks Steen and husband, Richard of Sulphur; son, Brandon Wilks of Sulphur; grandchildren, Slone and Saige Hessifer, Isabella and Brycen Wilks; mother, Betty LeJeune of Sulphur; 3 brothers, Charles R. Wilks of Vevay, IN, Larry W. Wilks of Spartanburg, SC and Edward R. Wilks of Sulphur, LA; 3 sisters, Geri Heard of Houston, TX, Joann Fontenot of Lake Charles, LA and Mary Vincent of Sulphur, LA. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles H. Wilks. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013 at Truth Apostolic Church in Sulphur, 2003 E. Burton St., at 10a.m.with Rev. Clayton Fontenot officiating. Burial will be at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 11, 2013 from 4-9 p.m. at the church and will resume on Monday at 8 a.m. until time of the service.
