Ernestine Malone, 93, of Lake Charles died on Sunday, April 13, 2014 in a local care facility. Ernestine was born on November 17, 1920 in Leesville, LA to Ernest and Rosa Bridges. She lived in Lake Charles for many years. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Lake Charles for over 40 years. She retired as an assistant chief operator for South Central Bell Telephone Company after 40 years of service. She was part of the Telephone Pioneers Community Service. Mrs. Ernestine loved attending church, cooking, and bingo. She always enjoyed taking care of people in their time of need. She is survived by one son, Marvin Smith and wife Mary of Lake Charles; one stepson, Donald Malone and wife Elizabeth of Moss Bluff; one step daughter, Sandra Tomson Bryan and Companion Clyde Parks; three grandchildren, Delisa Myers, Marvin D. Smith Jr., Shonna LeDoux and husband Chad; one step granddaughter, Rebecca Malone; five great grandchildren, Brett Young, Brandon Young and wife Misty, Karlie Smith, Carter LeDoux, Cooper LeDoux; two great great grandsons, Dominick Young and Gabriel Young. She is preceded in death by her parents and 3 loving husbands, Dempsey W. Malone, Charles D. Smith Sr., and Wesley William "Bill" Tomson. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Wednesday morning from 8:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery. Rev. Sorin Munteanu will officiate service.
