Ervin James Rivette, Jr.

Ervin James Rivette, Jr., 89, of Lake Charles, LA passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017.      

Mr. Rivette was born to Ervin James and Nevada (Lawrence) Rivette, Sr. on November 2, 1927 in Lake Charles, LA. He was a graduate of LaGrange Senior High School before attending seminary in Covington, LA. He later honorably and faithfully served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Rivette retired from a career as an insurance salesman for Pan-American Insurance Company. He was a devout Catholic and enjoyed playing the organ at St. Margaret Catholic Church and St. Patrick’s Convent. He was also passionate about his yard work and is said to have never met a stranger.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Elizabeth Perello of Lake Charles and brother, Ted Allen Rivette of Colorado Springs, CO and numerous nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Peggy Jones.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. A private inurnment will be held at a later date at Graceland Cemetery.
