Essie Lou Miller

Essie Lou Miller, 95, of Lake Charles, La died Sunday, November 9, 2014 in a Monroe, LA hospital. Essie was born on February 20, 1919 in Sikes, Louisiana to Rufus and Francis Johnston. Essie loved the outdoors gardening, fishing and supporting the VFW Ladies Auxillary. She was a native of Lake Charles, La. She is survived by one daughter, Debbie Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews; six grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Leonard Miller and Vorance Fontenot; and one son, Charles Ray Fontenot. A memorial service will be held 6:00 pm Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Ronnie Estes will officiate services. Cremation services have been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
