Esther Pousson Johnson

Esther Pousson Johnson, 93 of Lake Charles, LA went to be with The Lord on December 24, 2020.

Esther was one of twelve children born to Gilbert and Marcelia Pousson in Elton, LA on August 6, 1927.

She met and married Grady Fournerat and together they had four children. When she was not with her family, she enjoyed visiting friends over a cup of good coffee.

Upon the untimely passing of Grady, it was her faith in God that allowed her to provide for her children.  She later married Adam Johnson, welcoming him and his children into her life. Once again she enjoyed having a large family around her dinner table, where her labor of love was found in her deliciously prepared meals. She and her family faithfully attended St. Margaret’s Catholic Church.

She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents; her first husband, Grady Fournerat; husband, Adam Johnson; a son, Corbutt Fournerat; a grand daughter, Hailey Hinch; step-sons, Rodney and Hubert Johnson; step-grandsons, Gerry Andry and David Johnson and her siblings, Alice, Eve, Eva, Agnes, Madeline, Louise, Allen, Alvin, Elmer, and John.

Those left to cherish her memory are; her daughters, Rona Denton (Chris), Diane (Bill) Peterson; a son, Gerald (Kayla) Fournerat; step children, Dorothy (Bud) Andry and Robert (Kathy) Johnson; grand children, Sara (Jon) Kelley, Lauren (Casey) Denton, Aubrey (Eric) Landry, Julie (Daniel) Chimeno, Kati Hinch (Marc), Ginny Peterson (Justin), Darren (Jenee) Fournerat, and Matthew Denton, whom she cherish her daily conversations with; and many more extended family.

The family will welcome friends on Friday, January 1, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff beginning at 5pm til 8pm, with a Rosary beginning at 6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2020 beginning at 10am at St. Margaret Catholic Church, led by Father Orsot. She will be laid to rest in Liberty Cemetery in Elton, LA.
