Estine Anthony James Couvillion

Estine Anthony James Jimmie Couvillion, 78, of Lake Charles died on Friday, June 28, 2013 in his residence.

Jimmie was born on September 25, 1934 to the parents of Loyce and Eddie Pierre Couvillion in Plaucheville, Louisiana. He was a 1954 graduate of Menard High School. Mr. Couvillion has lived in Lake Charles since 1956. He worked for Burroughs Corp. as a Field Engineer for 35 years. He was a member of the Catholic Church. He served in the church as a Lector and a member of the choir. In his spare time he loved working in his shop making rocking horses and wood crafts. He was a charter founder member of the Lake Area Wood Workers Association. Mr. Couvillion also loved the outdoors with his family on the water in his boat, playing tennis and golfing. Mr. Couvillion was a Boy Scout Troop Master.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Mrs. Lois Cecelia Lemoine Couvillion of Lake Charles, LA, three sons: Bobby Couvillion and wife Kellie of Lake Charles, LA, Ricky Couvillion and wife Sandy of DeQuincy, LA, and Joey Couvillion and wife Phyllis of Fort Payne, Alabama, one daughter, Becky Simon and husband Tim of Clearlake, TX, eight grandchildren, Rehyana, Douglas, Chelsea, Chris, Matt, Courtney, Caleb and Barbara Lois Couvillion, three great grandchildren, Chloe, Bailee and Lainee Couvillion.

Mr. Couvillion is preceded in death by one son Charles Chuck Jude Couvillion, his parents Loyce and Eddie Pierre Couvillion, one sister, Rose Marie Shogan, one brother, Billy Couvillion.

His funeral will be held on Monday, July 1, 3013 at 1:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Deacon George will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Monday at 9:30 AM until the time of services. A rosary will be recited at 12:30 PM.
