Ethel Fontenot

Ethel Fontenot, 94, passed away in her residence on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.

She was born on February 8, 1928 in Port Arthur, Tx to Pete and Ella Trahan Desormeaux.  Mrs. Fontenot was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and mother-in-law. She was dedicated to her Catholic faith and loved flowers and cooking for her family. 

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Reggie Dartez (Gail), Carolyn A. Dartez Davis (Ronald “Bud”), David Wayne Fontenot (Denise) and John L. Fontenot (Carolyn); grandchildren, Angela, Missy, Michael Shane, Devin Scott, Jennifer and Christopher; Great grandchildren, Alexandra, Kendal, Nathan, Evan, Logan, Jacob and Joshua.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Fontenot and grandson, Todd Allan Fontenot.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023 at 1:00pm at St. Theodore Catholic Church with Father Aubrey Guilbeau officiating. Burial will follow in Old Richie Cemetery.  Visitation will begin on Monday at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff from 11:30am until 12:45pm.
