Ethel Lee Guillory Fontenot, 96, of Lake Charles, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday June 10, 2022.
Mrs. Fontenot was born the youngest of sixteen children to Felix and Virginia Fuselier Guillory. She was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles and a graduate of LaGrange Senior High School. A devoted wife, mother and lady of grace, faith and prayer. As well as a beautiful seamstress, talented artist and made the best chocolate and lemon meringue pies ever. Once she raised her children to young adults, she began travels with her husband, a pioneer in the International Oil Industry. Throughout the years she embraced the culture and customs of countless countries. She was an active member of South City Christian Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Michael Jean Fontenot of Lake Charles; two daughters, Lynda Wilson of Houston, TX and Patricia Gail Fontenot of Lake Charles; three grandsons, Robert Guimbelleaux (Lissa) of Lubbock, TX; Jon Guimbellot of Houma and Ryan Hardin (Heather) of Lake Charles; one granddaughter, Bernice Madina (Andrew) of New Orleans; one great granddaughter, Khloe Elise Hardin and her daughter of heart, niece, Gracie Sonnier (Van) of Lake Charles.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-eight years, Theophile Joseph Fontenot; son, Lionel Durrand Fontenot; her parents and all of her siblings.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 14, 2022 in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home. Reverend David Lang will officiate. Interment services will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation Monday will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will resume Tuesday at 9:00 AM in the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to any Special Olympics charity.
