Ethel Louise Porche, 82, of Lake Charles died at 7:40 PM on Thursday, January 6, 2011 in a local care facility.
Mrs. Porche was born in Jeanerette, LA on August 1, 1928 and lived in Lake Charles since 1960. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Jeanerette, LA. Mrs. Porche became a dental assistant and worked under Dr. James I. Hinton and Dr. R. Roy Vaughan. She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church.
She enjoyed gardening, camping, and reading. She was known by her family and friends for her delicious pralines and cakes baked with love.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael Glenn Porche of Palm Harbor, FL; two daughters, Faye Anne Porche of Amargosa Valley, NV and Peggy Reddoch of Lake Charles; a brother, Frank Hebert of Lindsay, TX; eight grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Florence Hebert; husband, Henry Porche; a brother, Emile Joseph Hebert; and a sister, Betty Jo Viator.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 10, 2011 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph Jessings will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM in the funeral home.
