Ethel Primeaux

Ethel Marie Bourg Primeaux, 101, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 9:37 PM on Monday, December 28, 2015 in a local care facility.

 

Mrs. Primeaux was born September 13, 1914 on a sugar cane plantation in Houma, LA, where she was raised and has lived in Lake Charles for over seventy years. She worked as an LPN at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, St. Pats, and Oak Park Nursing Home. After her retirement, she volunteered as a pink lady at Moss Regional Hospital. She attended St. Margaret Catholic Church.

 

Mrs. Primeaux is survived by her daughter, Kay Glenn of Lake Charles; son, Royce Primeaux and wife Veronica of Austin, TX; daughter-in-law, Nazia Primeaux of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Grenetta Dubrock, Gwendolyn Glenn, Devlyn Mouton, Amy Primeaux, Jeffery Primeaux, Jacob Primeaux, and Elizabeth Estes and husband Bob; six great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lenest Primeaux; son, Charles Darryl Primeaux; parents, Aubin J. Bourg and Elvira Price Bourg; sisters, Jeanette Abbot and Loretta Usie; and brothers, Roy Bourg and James Bourg.

 

Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Steve Shirley will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.

 

The family would like to express a special word of thanks to Terranda Gibbs, Carol Williams and the staffs at Rosewood Nursing Home and Harbor Hospice for the kindness, compassion and care that was given.
