Ettie Lavera "Vera" Cagle Franks

On Friday, August 5, 2022, Ettie LaVera Franks,77, passed away peacefully in Corpus Christi, Tx.

Vera was born and raised in Merryville, La and upon graduation moved to Lake Charles where she married,  had a daughter, and become a lifelong resident. Vera loved being a wife, mother, room mom, and chauffer to her daughter and friends. Later on, she returned to work and had the privilege of working for Dr. Ben J. Guilbeau, and Dr. Susan B. Ieyoub till her retirement. She loved the patients she met throughout the years and cherished the meaningful connections. Her most loved title was "Granny" and to her, this was the best achievement of her life. Her love for her granddaughters was immeasurable. 

Vera leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Sammie Franks Meacham, son-in-law, Michael D. Meacham, and granddaughters, Katelyn E. Meacham, and Kassidy N. Meacham.

Vera was proceeded in death by her husband of 54 years, Calvin Ross (C.R.) Franks      

The family is indebted to Dr. Susan Ieyoub, Dr. R Craig Broussard, and the staff on 8 Tower at LCMH for the excellent care and kindness shown to her. 

Visitation will be held from 10 am until 1 pm on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Johnson Funeral Home. The service will begin at 1 pm. Shanyetta Hypolite, lay minter, close friend, and sister in Christ will officiate. Burial will follow at Bivens Cemetery in Beauregard Parish.
