Euclide Ed Lognion, 87, of Lake Charles died on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 in a local care facility. Mr. Lognion was born on May 5, 1927 in Lake Arthur, LA. Mr. Lognion served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Carpenters Local #953 for over twenty years and worked for Lone Star Cement from 1956 until 1968. Mr. Lognion belonged to Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church where he served as an usher for 56 years and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a landlord of rental properties for more than fifty four years and developed "Lognionville" off of Nelson Road. Some of his enjoyments in life were being outdoors working in his garden, hunting, and fishing as well as traveling and dancing. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of over twenty years, Gennieve Darbonne Lognion; two daughters, Janet Guidry Rion and husband Loyd of Lake Charles and Debra L. LaFleur of Sulphur; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Darrell Keith Lognion. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Monsignor James Gaddy will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a cursillo rosary at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday in the funeral home beginning at 8:00 AM until leaving for the church at 10:00 AM.
