Funeral services for Mr. Eugene Joseph Trahan, 67, of Starks, LA will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Starks with Rev. Ron Butler officiating.  Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery Annex under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mr. Trahan will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 5 and continue until time of service.

 Mr. Trahan was the proprietor of Trahan’s Hardware #2 in Starks, LA  for 15 years.  He was also the President and a charter member of the Starks Volunteer EMS.  Most of all, Mr. Trahan loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He had a big heart and lived to help others.  He gave of his time and his talents without expecting anything in return.  He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation in the grocery aisle.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Belinda (Larry, Jr.) Sargent, Kimberly (Ken) Sample, Jennifer (Douglas)Dupre, Amber Trahan and Jonathan Trahan; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth (Dylan) Goings, Ryan Courmier, Brittany Watkins, Aaron Watkins, Anthony Watkins,

Travis Pettypool, Makenna Sample, Zoey Sample, Lilly Trahan; six step-grandchildren, James Sargent, Hannah Sargent, Kendal Meaux, Courtney Meaux, Colby Meaux, Beatrice Hall; fourteen great grandchildren; siblings, Deborah (Ricky) Bellard, Carolyn (Lesa) Trahan, Ruth (Calvin) Vaussine, Charles (Martha) Trahan, Vickie (Cary) Thomas.

Preceding him in death are his wife, Emma Trahan; parents, Alvin John Trahan and Ethel Trahan Arabie; brother, Michael Trahan and son-in-law, Gerald Courmier.
