Eula Mae Choate Griffith, 81, of Sweetlake passed away, Friday, February 11, 2011 in a Lake Charles hospital.
She was born in Edgerly, LA and was lifelong resident of Cameron Parish. Mrs. Griffith worked in the cafeteria at Johnson Bayou High School for many years. She was also known as the local seamstress and barber. Mrs. Griffith was a member of the Johnson Bayou Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Molena Duhon and husband Don of LeRoy, LA, and Jene Quinn and husband Kirk of Sweetlake; four sons, Joseph W. Griffith of Sweetlake, Nathan Griffith and wife Jo of Johnson Bayou, Dennis C. Griffith and wife Michelle of Port Arthur, TX, and Hallie W. Griffith and wife Lisa of Moss Bluff; twenty-one grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; three sisters, Lorraine Johnson and husband Starks, Barbara Arthur, and Gloria Bang, and one brother, Roy Choate. Mrs. Griffith was preceded in death by her husband David W. Griffith and a brother, Wilson Choate.
Her funeral will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, February 14, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Loren Burnett will officiate. Burial will be in Head of the Hollow Cemetery in Johnson Bayou. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM, Sunday, and continue from 8:00 AM until time of services, Monday, in the funeral home.
