Eula Rae Johnson Buller

Eula Rae Buller passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022, surrounded by her six children.

Eula Rae “Aunt Sis” was born in Westlake, Louisiana, to Pearl and Paul Johnson as the youngest of seven children.  She worked as George Theriot’s secretary for his grocery store chain where she met one of the managers.  Shortly thereafter, she married her husband of 60 years, Bennie Buller.  She took on the responsibility of raising six children.  For Eula, a relationship with Christ was essential.  She taught her children how to pray and who God is.  She and Bennie lived in many cities in Louisiana, but settled in Hecker, Louisiana and attended Mass at Saint Charles Borromeo, Fenton as faithful parishioners.  After Bennie’s death, Eula moved to Villa Maria Retirement Center where she made new and more friends, but always wanted to remain faithful to her Church Parish.     

Those left to cherish her memories are her six children: Roland (and Cathy) Buller of Westlake, Colin (and Amanda) Buller of Bell City, Warren (and Beth) Buller of Lake Charles, Elizabeth Ann (and Darrell) Faulk of Welsh, John (and Jennifer) Buller of Iowa, and The Reverend Ruben Buller of Lake Charles.  She also has 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.  She was beloved by her many nieces and nephews who loved Aunt Sis very much.  Her 7 grandsons will serve as pall-bearers, with her 5 grandsons-in-laws serving as honorary pall-bearers.   

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bennie Buller, her parents, and her six brothers and sisters. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Fenton, LA.  The Very Reverend Ruben J. Buller, V.G. will serve as Celebrant.  Burial will follow in Hebert Family Cemetery in Hecker, LA next to her beloved husband, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home, located at 4321 Lake Street, Lake Charles, Louisiana from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with the Holy Rosary being recited at 6:00 pm.  Visitation will resume on Thursday at 8:00am until the start of the funeral mass at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Fenton, LA.
