Eva Benoit Phillips Guidry, 79, of DeRidder, LA, died at 11:55 PM on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 in her residence.
Mrs. Guidry was born September 2, 1941 in Lake Charles, LA and attended Marion High School. From 1974-1984 she worked as a rural mail carrier. She was a longtime member of Topsy Baptist Church. Mrs. Guidry enjoyed spending time with the Beauregard Council on Aging Quilting Group. She also enjoyed woodworking, bowling, ceramics and traveling.
Mrs. Guidry is survived by her children, Nancy Johnson and husband Louis of Dayton, TX, James Phillips and wife Janet of Lake Charles, Dena Henry and husband Robert of Lake Charles, Renee Dupre and husband Glen of Sweet Lake, and Nickie Duhon and husband Dane of DeRidder, brother, Edward Benoit of Slidell; two sisters, “Boots” Derby of DeRidder and Annie Velasco of Riverside, CA; ten grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Larry Phillips; husband of over thirty years, Noush Joseph Guidry; parents, Theo and Shirley Garrett Benoit; sister, Helen Smith; and a grandson, Jonathan O’Brien.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Reverend Lloyd Carroll will officiate. Private burial will be at Benoit Cemetery. A gathering of family members and friends will be at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
