Eva "Mamabear" Hebert

Eva "Mamabear" Hebert, of Lake Charles, LA passed away peacefully Saturday, May 30, 2015 surrounded by her family. Eva, affectionately known as Mamabear by all who loved and knew her, was a native of Rayne, LA. She lived in Lake Charles for the last 63 years. She worked as a cafeteria manager at Landry High School where she loved to "feed the boys." She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters Association Court Our Lady of Fatima #1506 for the past 63 years. She volunteered her time with feeding the hungry at Abraham's Tent and the Brown Bag at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. March 21, 2013 was named "Ms. Eva Hebert Day" by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury in recognition and appreciation for her volunteer hours, her life of service and giving to others. On Valentine's Day in 1913, a day known for love and sweethearts, God blessed this world with the birth of our sweetheart, Mamabear. Known for her homemade biscuits and delicious cooking, she spread love to every person that crossed her path. She lived a life of charity, there was no time to be leisure, she had work to do and people to love. Left to cherish Mamabear's memory is her son Ray Hebert of Lake Charles, LA: four grandchildren, Sabrina Richelle Reynolds of Houston, TX, Shane Ray Hebert of Zachary, LA, Spencer Ross Hebert of Lake Charles, LA, Samantha Rael Hebert of Lake Charles, LA; great grandchildren, Alexis Williams, Tanner Hebert, Rhett Hebert, Ethan Johnson, Anna Reynolds, Rachel Reynolds, Harlie Hebert, and Sterling Hebert; one great great grandchild, Avery Williams. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Clement Hebert and their infant son; her parents, Ambrose and Anna Lantia; daughter-in-law, Lou Hebert; as well as 6 siblings. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Abraham's Tent. Funeral services will be held at St. Margaret's Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 11:00AM. Visitation will be Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home from 2:00PM until 9:00PM with a rosary taking place at 7:00PM. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Rayne, LA under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
